Q1 indicated that $1.8 billion in funding was injected into the African tech ecosystem, spread across 232 deals
In Q2 it appeared that the funding extravaganza of the past two years appears to have slowed, as performances of venture activity globally are seemingly mirrored in Africa’s ecosystem.

Google Hangouts is shutting down in November: After sunsetting Google Hangouts for Workspace users in February, Google’s now beginning the process of migrating free, personal Hangouts users to Chat. In an announcement posted to its blog, Google says people who still use the Hangouts mobile app will see a prompt to move to Chat.
