— Climate Tech Prize
This competition seeks technology solutions that addresses both immediate and enduring challenges faced by communities susceptible to climate-induced migration and displacement. Selected winners will be awarded prize money from a pool of $1,000,000. Five (5) winners will be selected to receive a cash prize of $200,000 each.
— Post Harvest Loss Innovation Prize
This initiative seeks the next big breakthrough in technology to reduce post-harvest losses for smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. There’s $50,000 financial reward for the winning startup, as well as access to a network of experienced industry leaders, media exposure, etc.
— Young Founders Programme Autumn 2024
The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme (YFP) is a six-month fellowship for 25 leaders uplifting emerging and developing markets towards a sustainable future. The programme offers targeted support to scale founders’ ventures and develop their leadership abilities.
— AWIEF Awards 2024
This initiative seeks to recognise, honour and celebrate women founders and entrepreneurs in Africa, across industry sectors, for their achievements and contribution to the continent’s inclusive economic growth and development.
